A letter written by a certain Mandiam to a, presumably Dutch, officer via his secretary (Juru Tulis). The letter is written in Toba Batak language and script, except for the last sentences which are in Toba Batak script but in Malay language. The writer announces that a certain Si Humintar has escaped. He asks the officer to do his best to find the fugitive. Towards the end of the letter follows the request in Malay language that the officer may send him gunpowder and bullets, because his stock is already exhausted, whereas his enemy has already taken Siunong-unong. A transliteration of the text in Roman script and on paper together with a Malay language translation is attached. Cf. VOHD XXVIII, 206
